Cosplay Costume Contest
While many events hold a scheduled costume contest with a handful of categories and a few winners, we do things a little differently…
Instead of gathering everyone on stage at a specific time, the Vermont Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror Expo recognizes great cosplay throughout the entire weekend.
Throughout both days of the show, our Expo Cosplay Judges will be wandering the event floor looking for individuals and groups whose costumes, creativity, and attention to detail truly stand
out.
When someone catches their eye, they may receive an on-the-spot Cosplay Award!
Each selected cosplayer will receive:
We plan to award up to a dozen individuals or groups each day — though in the past we've been known to hand out quite a few more!
We do it this way for a few reasons:
Our goal is simple: recognize as many talented cosplayers as possible for the creativity, effort, and passion they bring to the Expo.
So come dressed to impress, you never know when a judge might spot you!

- A certificate of recognition
- A prize donated by one of our amazing vendors
- A photo posted online celebrating their costume
We plan to award up to a dozen individuals or groups each day — though in the past we've been known to hand out quite a few more!
We do it this way for a few reasons:
- We’d rather not pull cosplayers off the floor for an hour just to wait for a few seconds on stage
- Not everyone can be present at a scheduled contest time
- Traditional contests limit awards by category
Our goal is simple: recognize as many talented cosplayers as possible for the creativity, effort, and passion they bring to the Expo.
