Answers to frequently asked questions about the Vermont Renaissance Faire and Vermont Gatherings events:
General Rules
Please limit the bawdiness, this is family-oriented faire.
No fighting, real or practice, unless it is part of a demo or choreographed VTRF act.
No Smoking or vaping is allowed on the Faire grounds.
No outside alcohol or recreational drugs are permitted at the Faire.
No glass bottles or containers are allowed on the Faire grounds.
Please dispose of all trash properly, there are receptacles placed around the Fairgrounds.
Children and minors must always be attended by an adult.
Missing or Lost Children & Parents should check in at the Information tent.
No soliciting or busking unless you are a recognized Faire merchant or act.
Faire management reserves the right to inspect any package or container for any reason.
Refunds and Re-Entry
All Vermont Gatherings events do not offer refunds or ticket exchanges, including reimbursements for closure due to weather, acts of God, unused tickets, or other reasons beyond our control. We do allow same-day re-entry to the faire with a hand stamp.
Are Outside Food & Beverages Allowed?
While the Vermont Renaissance Faire has various food options, we also allow guests to bring packed lunches, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. We will escort individuals found in possession of outside alcohol off site without a refund.
Parking is always FREE! Our events are also handicap accessible.
What time is the Vermont Renaissance Faire?
The Vermont Renaissance Faire runs Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 6pm.
What happens if it rains?
We have made the decision to move the Vermont Renaissance Faire INDOORS at the Champlain Valley Expo June 22-23, 2024 due to the weather forecast. The show will go on! Please help us spread the word.
What is your serious weather policy?
While the Vermont Renaissance Faire is rain or shine, in the event of dangerous weather such as thunderstorms we may ‘clear’ the field. If this happens, please follow staff guidance and directions over the PA system to return to your vehicles until the weather passes. We will then reopen the Faire and you will be able to re-enter.
Are costumes required?
Costumes are welcome but not required.
Are pets allowed?
Only service animals are allowed at Vermont Gatherings events.
Do vendors accept credit cards?
Most of our food, beverage and craft vendors accept credit cards. The Vermont Renaissance Faire will have an ATM on-site.
How can I become a vendor?

What is your photography policy?
All attendees grant Vermont Gatherings permission to use their likeness in any photograph, video, or other digital media (“photo”) in all its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. No unauthorized photography, video or recording may be used for profit or business-related purposes without the express consent of the Faire.
Trinket Trading
Patrons may bring small items of negligible value to give away or swap with others. This practice is known as “trinket trading.” Trinket trading of the following is prohibited:
Edible or consumable products.
Offensive, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate items.
Items that are the same or similar to those sold by the Faire or by artisans at the Faire.
Items that are given to or traded with a child without the knowledge and permission of the child’s parent/guardian.
Dangerous, unsafe, or unsanitary items
Items bearing the name, logo, or likeness of a person, entity, or act without the permission of that person, entity, or act.
Items bearing the name or logo of the Vermont Renaissance Faire or Vermont Gatherings.
No items may be sold or exchanged for monetary compensation at the Faire except by authorized Faire vendors. Trading in a manner that is disruptive, unruly, gives the impression of busking, or is otherwise problematic is prohibited. Vermont Gatherings reserves the right to prohibit any additional items or types of trinket trading.
